Less Invasive Surgical Procedure Designed to Restore Heart Function

The Revivent TC Procedure is designed to treat patients with left ventricular dysfunction resulting in an ejection fraction <40% due to myocardial scarring following a heart attack or chronic poor blood supply to the heart muscle.

Procedure Highlights

  • Less invasive: Requires a mini-thoracotomy incision, avoiding the need for full sternotomy.

  • Off-pump technique: No cardiopulmonary bypass is required, reducing procedural risk and recovery time.

  • Targeted remodeling: Healthy heart walls are joined together to exclude scarred myocardium, with the intention of reshaping the left ventricle.

Revivent TC Procedure

The procedure is performed by a cardiothoracic surgeon using a special device to implant two – three sets of anchors into the scar tissue in the heart. Once the anchors are in place, the surgeon will gently pull them toward each other, excluding the scar tissue from the healthy tissue on the left ventricle. This isolates the damaged part of the heart and allows the remaining healthy tissue to work more effectively.

Patient Identification

Target Patient Population (NYHA III-IV)

Previous myocardial infarction (90 days or more) with scar (ischemic)​.

Scar

  • Anteroseptal, apical, and/or anterolateral region​
  • Discrete acontractile (akinetic and/or dyskinetic)​
  • Transmural (>50%)​

  • Must include LV dilation or aneurysm

  • Is required at the base for implant
